Baptisms
We baptize infants, children, and adults of all ages at FELC. We consider baptisms a public, community affair because we, as God's community, want to uphold and support you and/or your child in faith and love. For us, baptisms are proclamations of Christ always and forever present within our midst. It is during this celebration that we recognize the many ways water has been used to cleanse and heal God's people throughout history. We also recognize that Christ is our healing, living water today because, through Christ, we've come to understand and recognize God's forgiveness and love for us and all people. In our church there is no confession or act of faith required to be baptized, thus we boldly baptize infants in Christ's name as Christ's children. We believe baptisms are all about God coming to us over and over again, even if we can't or are yet to comprehend God's love. If you're considering getting baptized, baptizing your child, or would like to know about what we think about baptisms, contact our pastor!
